Tenuta di Collalbrigo produces premium sparkling and still wines in the Prosecco DOCG area of Conegliano, Italy.
Our vision is to portray the beauty of the Collalbrigo hills around the world through the superior quality of our wines.
Our mission is to always improve the quality of our wines through innovation and sustainable practices that respect and preserve our unique territory.
Tenuta di Collalbrigo is owned and operated by the Cosulich family, one of the world’s oldest dynasties of shipowners, now winemakers since four generations.
The Cosulich Family acquired properties and land in Collalbrigo as a vacation estate. Here, house wines were produced for many years.
Alberto Cosulich enlarged the winery and built the cellar, launching a business in winemaking.
Alberto’s son Francesco took over the estate, bringing the winery to actual dimensions and establishing Collabrigo’s wines internationally.
Francesco’s sons started managing the estate, expanding its reach and becoming the fourth generation of family members to become wine producers in Collalbrigo.
Date of the first documents related to the shipping business of the family.
The family fleet was composed by more than 20 ships and the family relocates to Venice and Trieste to run the business from larger hubs.
The family business expanded globally and the Cosulich Group became one of the largest operators in the shipping and shipbuilding business.
Due to the Italian Government policy, the Cosulich Line and the shipyard were nationalized.
Tenuta di Collalbrigo is located in the heart of the DOCG Prosecco hills, between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. Collalbrigo is the small and old village (‘il Borgo storico’) which sits on top of the hill. Here, winemaking has been present since 1276. In July 2019, the DOCG area of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene were given the prestigious status of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In August 2019, Collalbrigo became a ‘Rive’, the grand cru of Prosecco.
Our wines are the product of low-yielding vineyards in hills formed by Dolomites’ glacier movements. On average, our vineyards are 25-30 years old and the soil composition is of clay and pebbles. Collalbrigo’s wines were amongst the first to receive recognition by Burton Anderson in his famous ‘Guide to Italian Wines’ in the 70s.
Since then, it has been under the radar of all major wine magazines and with columnists such as Veronelli, Gambero Rosso, 2000 Vini, Robert Parker, Wine Spectator, Wine and Spirit, having achieved 90+ ratings with some of the best opinion makers and influencers. Collalbrigo’s bottle designs have received multiple awards. Most recently, in 2019 Collalbrigo’s design won the Open Art Award for best label.
